Palliative Care Doctor
Christopher A. Jones, MD, MBA, CPC, HMDC, FAAHPM is Professor of Medicine and the Clinical Vice Chief for Palliative Care for Duke Health in Durham, North Carolina. After finishing medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, he trained in General Internal Medicine at Brown University and completed fellowships in Geriatric Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) at Duke University.
His interest in the business of medicine, specifically within HPM, led him to complete a Master’s of Business Administration degree at East Carolina University. Dr. Jones is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Palliative Medicine, a physician Board Member at the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and has co-authored more than 70 academic papers. A Certified Professional Coder, he consults nationally, making billing and coding accessible and hopefully interesting for providers across medicine’s specialties and subspecialties.
